The gaming champion was entitled to attend the Ballon d’Or award ceremony as a special guest. Before the start of the event, football stars enjoyed their own unique experience inside a customised limousine, which had a built-in FIFA 16 video game.

As the exciting ride came to an end, Alshehri went on to meet this year’s Ballon d’Or Winner Lionel Messi and the other Ballon d’Or nominees Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.

Former Ballon d’Or winner Kaka, two-time Olympic gold medalist Hope Solo, FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year Carli Lloyd and FIFA Puskas winner Wendell Lira were among the prominent figures who dared to play against the ace gamer.

When asked about the experience, Alshehri was quoted as saying “I still can’t believe that I was sitting here with Kaka in this customised limousine, driving through Zurich and playing against them in FIFA! It felt like a really cool dream come true."

Unfortunately, he didn’t get to play against any of the Ballon d’Or nominees owing to various reasons. Messi’s reason was the most surprising of all, he snubbed the challenge fearing he might lose.

He also got the opportunity to meet a host of other stars which includes Iniesta, Dani Alves, Thiago Silva, Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, Paul Pogba, Luka Modric and Clarence Seedorf. “It’s not bad for one day! I took pictures with all of these players" he said jovially.

The Saudi Arabian looks forward to enjoying these comforts the forthcoming year as well, as he is determined to defend his FIFA Interactive World Cup Champion title at the Grand Final event in New York City.

The winner of the event will be awarded the FIWC trophy, 20,000 USD in prize money and a trip to the 2016 FIFA Ballon d’Or awards ceremony in addition to the highly coveted title of FIFA Interactive World Cup Champion.
