VIDEO: The Ozil wondergoal everyone’s in love with

Kevin De Bruyne converted an excellent free kick as Manchester City fought back from behind to beat Barcelona 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium. In what might be viewed as a watershed game for Pep Guardiola’s side, the Belgian fired a fine shot past Marc-Andre ter Stegen to propel his side to victory.

Meanwhile, the brilliance of Antoine Griezmann’s opening goal against Rostov should not be overlooked. The Frenchman has enjoyed a dazzling year with Atletico Madrid, and the sheer grace and ease of execution he achieved in putting his side into the lead from a very difficult opportunity was remarkable.

Perhaps the greatest challenger to Ozil, though, is Paris Saint-Germain right back Thomas Meunier, whose strike in Basel arrived even later than the German’s and pushed the French champion level with the Gunners at the head of Group A.

With the match locked at 1-1, the Belgium international scored a dazzling volley into the top corner of the net to book his side’s place in the last 16. It can be viewed by clicking this link.

For those who might not have seen it -  where have you been? - here is Ozil’s goal again in all its glory.
